Barry has extensive healthcare experience in commissioning, strategic reform, operational performance improvement, financial recovery and market analysis, and has worked in some of the largest and most influential global healthcare organisations.
Barry has a broad range of expertise and experience having worked in informatics, NHS General Management and for the Intensive Support Team. He has developed a reputation for his RTT knowledge nationally and regular contributes to central debate and policy shaping. Barry has supported over 60 Trusts to improve performance and the quality of their information.

Piers Young
Chief Operating Officer
Piers is a Senior Executive and leader in healthcare, with a proven track recording in supporting NHS organisations, the Department of Health and NHS England to improve NHS operational management. He has an extensive operational and service improvement background and is a graduate of the NHS management training scheme.
Piers joined MBI following his role as Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Director of Performance at a large NHS Acute provider where he oversaw the return to reporting for RTT and the delivery of RTT and cancer access standards for the first time in 3 years.
Piers has also worked for NHS IST on national data quality improvement programme and was part of the national 18-week programme when it was initial established.
Piers will lead the project on a day to day basis and work across the 4 delivery domains.

Amanda Quincey
Consulting Director
Experienced board level executive with extensive operational and strategic NHS experience spanning commissioning, the acute sector and Academic Health Science Networks. She is accomplished at delivering complex change programmes, new business development, and service/operational redesign to improve performance and outcomes.

Andrew Irvine
Consulting Associate Partner
Andrew has a portfolio of over 20 years’ experience in the UK NHS, Australasian Healthcare Market and Global Healthcare Management Consulting. A former NHS Executive Director Andrew is a performance improvement and delivery specialist who has led RTT recovery support in multiple organisation, most recently at St. Georges.
He has comprehensive experience of acute sector operational management within a broad range of acute specialties in large teaching hospitals and community service organisations.
Andrew has a comprehensive track record of working across health systems between commissioners and providers on re-configuration and operational performance improvement. He has experience of successfully leading a national improvement programme for the Department of Health.

Jack Short

Jack is an Associate Partner with MBI Health Group and has delivered multiple RTT improvement programmes including at 3 other London teaching hospitals. He is a senior transformation and change expert, specialising in delivering value through effective leadership, management and engagement.Â
Jack has worked in both development and operational roles across all aspects of healthcare in both the NHS and Private sector including senior roles delivering complex integration projects including mergers, acquisitions, business process outsourcing and greenfield projects.

John Bull
Technology Partner
John has over 15 years’ experience in UK NHS healthcare, designing, developing and implementing data analytics technology products to deliver sustainable improvement in elective care management.
John has worked at over 30 NHS acute Trusts and has extensive experience deploying technology to work with all major PAS and EPR systems, and a detailed knowledge of the operational processes and data quality challenges associated with elective care management.
John has a background in process re-engineering and the implementation of business process management and quality systems in other sectors including Engineering, construction and aerospace and defence.

Philip Calvert
Consulting Director
Philip joined MBI 2015 with 25 years NHS experience, have been the leading the Intensive Support Team for the Department of Health responsible for ensuring delivery of RTT and Cancer standards nationally.Â
Philip has worked in a variety of information and performance roles with over 70 NHS organisations providing advice and guidance on delivery of the RTT and cancer standards and is a recognised national expert on data reporting.
Philip regularly provides sign off and assurance to both regulators and NHS England regarding Trust data processes and reporting and has acted as an expert subject advisor to NHS England. Philip is a recognised national authority on RTT data and elective patient tracking.

David Quincey

David is an experienced NHS Operational Manager having managed multiple specialities as well as Theatres & Anaesthetics in a large London Teaching Hospital. He has direct service management experience successfully recovering performance for RTT, Cancer and DM01.

Michael Squibbs
Managed Operations Director
Michael is a Referral to Treatment (RTT) specialist with a history of operational, managerial and project work within the NHS. He has 12 years knowledge and experience with NHS data and systems including PIMS, Clinicom, Cerner, Lorenzo, Silverlink, iPM and others. Michael has worked on business change projects at several NHS Trusts pre and post the implementation stage of a new EPR, including the development, training and rollout of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Â
As a Service Manager, Michael has led on the planning and implementation of administrative services restructuring and acted as a Data Quality lead for several improvement/recovery projects with emphasis on identifying issues at the front end to address the ongoing problems with data quality to reach a sustainable position. Â

Marta Janiszewska

James Wright
Senior Developer
James has been a SQL analyst and developer for 7+ years and has extensive knowledge of NHS/hospital-based datasets.
He has:

Mat Knowles
Data Analyst/System Support
Mat joined the team in 2013 after spending the majority of his career in investment banking and fund management. He holds a first-class honours degree in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School in the City of London and spent over 20 years working at the sharp end of the financial markets in quantitative analysis and advisory and front office trading, including the design and management of systematic derivative trading models.
Mat has been working on applying quant techniques learned in finance to the healthcare analytics space and was instrumental in creating MBI’s rigorous statistical approach to sampling patient cohorts for RTT validation. Through his work with MBI Mat has built valuable experience of all the EPR and PAS systems underlying MBI’s analytics applications and works closely with Trust stakeholders to align the product suite to their individual requirements.

Andy Roycroft
Product Engineer
Andy is an SQL developer responsible for developing, implementing and supporting multiple technical solutions. In the past 11 years he has worked for many different NHS healthcare providers (acute and community) being exposed to the majority of EPR/PAS systems in use today.
Andy has extensive knowledge of SQL data warehousing, applications and NHS datasets which allows for rich and detailed analysis of data from multiple sources and for targeted audiences. He is also well engaged with product development to enhance application functionality and ensure that the best user experience is being achieved.

Having spent the last ten years working across NHS and private consulting projects in IT and infrastructure, and operational experience in NHS mental health settings, James has broad knowledge of the NHS, projects, programmes and change management.
James has a passion for communication, always with a sense of fun, and enjoys working with clients and the MBI team to deliver outcomes for the customer.
