Barry has extensive healthcare experience in commissioning, strategic reform, operational performance improvement, financial recovery and market analysis, and has worked in some of the largest and most influential global healthcare organisations.
Barry has a broad range of expertise and experience having worked in informatics, NHS General Management and for the Intensive Support Team. He has developed a reputation for his RTT knowledge nationally and regular contributes to central debate and policy shaping. Barry has supported over 60 Trusts to improve performance and the quality of their information.
Chief Operating Officer
Piers is a Senior Executive and leader in healthcare, with a proven track recording in supporting NHS organisations, the Department of Health and NHS England to improve NHS operational management. He has an extensive operational and service improvement background and is a graduate of the NHS management training scheme.
Piers joined MBI following his role as Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Director of Performance at a large NHS Acute provider where he oversaw the return to reporting for RTT and the delivery of RTT and cancer access standards for the first time in 3 years.
Piers has also worked for NHS IST on national data quality improvement programme and was part of the national 18-week programme when it was initial established.
Piers will lead the project on a day to day basis and work across the 4 delivery domains.
Experienced board level executive with extensive operational and strategic NHS experience spanning commissioning, the acute sector and Academic Health Science Networks. She is accomplished at delivering complex change programmes, new business development, and service/operational redesign to improve performance and outcomes.
Amanda has extensive NHS planning and operational management experience having led Strategic programme at University College Partners and General Management roles at UCLH, Ashford & St Peters and the Royal Berks. Amanda is a Board Trustee for Crohn’s and Colitis UK and an advocate for UK health service improvement.
Dr Shirani Rajapaksa
Shirani is an experienced clinical leader with extensive experience working across healthcare as a clinician, management consultant and pier to pier advisor. Her experience is international across public, private and third sector environments and has advised on leadership, sustainability, wellbeing, innovation and systems development.
Experience as transformational chair of local charity. Background as doctor with strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills. Interested in projects on leadership development, strategy development and planning, marketing and people performance improvement, where insights, innovation and leadership experience can be used to best effect in any industry.
John has a broad portfolio of over 20 years’ experience in the UK NHS, Australasian Healthcare Market and Global Healthcare Management Consulting. He has published research into waiting list management in the UK Health System.
John has been an Executive and Non-Executive Director in the NHS and has comprehensive experience of acute sector operational management within a broad range of clinical specialties. He specialises in working alongside clinicians on delivering change and demonstrable performance improvement.
Sir Malcolm Dalrymple-Hay

Malcolm is a practising Consultant Surgeon in a teaching hospital in the UK. He trained not only in the UK, but has also worked in the American and Australasian health care systems. Malcolm has experience with the commissioning and developing of new clinical services, expertise in service line reporting and configuration of patient centred efficient services.
Consulting Associate Partner
Andrew has a portfolio of over 20 years’ experience in the UK NHS, Australasian Healthcare Market and Global Healthcare Management Consulting. A former NHS Executive Director Andrew is a performance improvement and delivery specialist who has led RTT recovery support in multiple organisation, most recently at St. Georges.
He has comprehensive experience of acute sector operational management within a broad range of acute specialties in large teaching hospitals and community service organisations.
Andrew has a comprehensive track record of working across health systems between commissioners and providers on re-configuration and operational performance improvement. He has experience of successfully leading a national improvement programme for the Department of Health.
Jack is an Associate Partner with MBI Health Group and has delivered multiple RTT improvement programmes including at 3 other London teaching hospitals. He is a senior transformation and change expert, specialising in delivering value through effective leadership, management and engagement.
Jack has worked in both development and operational roles across all aspects of healthcare in both the NHS and Private sector including senior roles delivering complex integration projects including mergers, acquisitions, business process outsourcing and greenfield projects.

Jack specialises in understanding the causal effects and impacts of operational processes on patient pathways, outcomes and the ability to use data to effectively make decisions.
John has over 15 years’ experience in UK NHS healthcare, designing, developing and implementing data analytics technology products to deliver sustainable improvement in elective care management.
John has worked at over 30 NHS acute Trusts and has extensive experience deploying technology to work with all major PAS and EPR systems, and a detailed knowledge of the operational processes and data quality challenges associated with elective care management.
John has a background in process re-engineering and the implementation of business process management and quality systems in other sectors including Engineering, construction and aerospace and defence.
Philip joined MBI 2015 with 25 years NHS experience, have been the leading the Intensive Support Team for the Department of Health responsible for ensuring delivery of RTT and Cancer standards nationally.
Philip has worked in a variety of information and performance roles with over 70 NHS organisations providing advice and guidance on delivery of the RTT and cancer standards and is a recognised national expert on data reporting.
Philip regularly provides sign off and assurance to both regulators and NHS England regarding Trust data processes and reporting and has acted as an expert subject advisor to NHS England. Philip is a recognised national authority on RTT data and elective patient tracking.
Philip will support all domains.
David is an experienced NHS Operational Manager having managed multiple specialities as well as Theatres & Anaesthetics in a large London Teaching Hospital. He has direct service management experience successfully recovering performance for RTT, Cancer and DM01.
David is an NHS operational management expert that leads engagements with management and clinic team to help them prioritise initiatives to improve RTT performance.
He is skill in quickly establishes credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds, alongside being an inclusive and visible leader skilled at engaging staff and direction setting. Experience of successfully driving and delivering highly complex programmes of change, in both the operational and informatic spheres.
Managed Operations Director
Michael is a Referral to Treatment (RTT) specialist with a history of operational, managerial and project work within the NHS. He has 12 years knowledge and experience with NHS data and systems including PIMS, Clinicom, Cerner, Lorenzo, Silverlink, iPM and others. Michael has worked on business change projects at several NHS Trusts pre and post the implementation stage of a new EPR, including the development, training and rollout of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
As a Service Manager, Michael has led on the planning and implementation of administrative services restructuring and acted as a Data Quality lead for several improvement/recovery projects with emphasis on identifying issues at the front end to address the ongoing problems with data quality to reach a sustainable position.
Managed Operations Partner
Emilios is an accomplished board level director with exposure to Healthcare and Government sectors in the UK with over 20 years of delivery, change and transformation experience.
Emilios has an information technology background with a degree in computer science. He has managed through the full software development lifecycle and systems implementation end to end in large UK NHS hospitals and other public sector domains.
A specialist in managed operations and services Emilios has led data quality and performance turnaround programmes using technology and methodologies which enable efficiencies and value add to operational patient services. Emilios is an advisor to a Non-Executive Board of an Acute NHS Trust covering strategic ICT services and organisational performance.
Managed Operations Director
Peter carries 10 years’ experience in RTT validation and data quality correction having worked on a number RTT improvement and recovery projects in the NHS.
Peter manages teams of 20 or more validators on a single assignment, has a strong understanding of data groups by speciality, has created validation procedures and quality assurance frameworks creating an assured delivery of outcomes and quality.
Managed Operations Director
A business change and data quality manager who is creative and driven to apply effective change. Marta has demonstrated excellent analytical skills and has a broad exposure to Acute Trusts across England and Wales.
Assignments over the last 7 years have given Marta exposure to several recovery and performance improvement programmes covering back end data quality containment and front end change, training and sustainability. Marta is a subject matter expert in RTT 18ww, data analysis, EPR workflow and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across many specialties.
Marta has led data quality teams to achieve the objectives and outcomes set at the outset. Has effective engagement skills enabling a journey of change to be realised.
Managed Operations Director
A leading technician in the practice of RTT and the complexities of data quality. Toyin’s A leading technician in the practice of RTT and the complexities of data quality. Toyin’s analytical skills are unrivalled. His knowledge and experience has developed a level of safe yet efficient way of delivering patient care and providing operational guidance to improve and sustain data quality.
Toyin has applied himself through the entire lifecycle, from operational department coordination to new EPR implementations, back office administration, floorwalking, data quality and RTT logic build and test projects. He has led focused data quality teams through data backlogs with a high level of complexity and high clinical risk providing organisations with clarity and risk mitigation results.

Adam has 14 years of software development and management experience, spanning several industries. He leads tech projects from ideation to success, with an obsession for product usability and user experience; solutionising requirements for some of the world’s most elite Fortune 500 and Public Sector companies.
Adam brings expert communication, managerial skills and digital strategy to the table, powered by deep technical insight.
James has been a SQL analyst and developer for 7+ years and has extensive knowledge of NHS/hospital-based datasets.

- Developed ETL processing for multiple EPR systems using SQL and SSIS;
- Developed reporting systems for multiple EPR systems.
James has extensive knowledge of Cerner frontend and backend and has experience working knowledge of Silverlink/Lorenzo/Clinicom databases.
Data Analyst/System Support
Mat joined the team in 2013 after spending the majority of his career in investment banking and fund management. He holds a first-class honours degree in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School in the City of London and spent over 20 years working at the sharp end of the financial markets in quantitative analysis and advisory and front office trading, including the design and management of systematic derivative trading models.
Mat has been working on applying quant techniques learned in finance to the healthcare analytics space and was instrumental in creating MBI’s rigorous statistical approach to sampling patient cohorts for RTT validation. Through his work with MBI Mat has built valuable experience of all the EPR and PAS systems underlying MBI’s analytics applications and works closely with Trust stakeholders to align the product suite to their individual requirements.
Andy is an SQL developer responsible for developing, implementing and supporting multiple technical solutions. In the past 11 years he has worked for many different NHS healthcare providers (acute and community) being exposed to the majority of EPR/PAS systems in use today.
Andy has extensive knowledge of SQL data warehousing, applications and NHS datasets which allows for rich and detailed analysis of data from multiple sources and for targeted audiences. He is also well engaged with product development to enhance application functionality and ensure that the best user experience is being achieved.
